About Virgin Hotels

Virgin Hotels were “Formed to shake up the hotel industry”.

They position themselves as “a luxury lifestyle hospitality brand combining heartfelt service and a personalised hotel experience” so we knew this project would be a big one!

We were proud to support the opening of the very first Virgin Hotel outside the US in 2022, located on Victoria Street in Edinburgh, steps away from the Royal Mile. We also supported the launch of their second – Glasgow in 2023, with our industry-leading communications solutions, working in association with Quadriga Systems Ltd.

The Challenge

To provide a phone system to cover all communications in the hotel, including 225 rooms, back offices, restaurant and meeting areas, plus mobile staff.

In line with the Virgin brand’s ethos, the extravagant hotels offer travellers a trendy and luxurious experience, so it was important that the phone system and technology throughout enhanced this experience.

What We Did

The solution was an industry leading NEC SV9100 phone system which enabled unified communications throughout all areas of the hotel, full PMS Integration and Microsoft Teams Integration for all staff on the move.

But we didn’t just leave after installation – we provided 3 full days of staff training, ensuring everyone was completely at ease with the new system before opening. Training and a careful handover is always at the forefront of any LIV project, as we always provide a complete service.

The Result

We love these striking handsets which are installed in all rooms and staff areas, plus key public areas. The beautiful design of the Virgin Hotels handsets perfectly blend a well-loved classic with cutting edge technology. Something reflected throughout Virgin’s stunning hotels.
